Podiatrists are university trained and have to obtain a science degree and HCPC registration before they can practise. Once working they have to ensure they keep up to date with procedures and use evidence based techniques in the same way as other health professionals.
Sarah Levio has spent most of her working life within healthcare, training first as an RGN at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and then working as a staff nurse at the world renowned heart transplant centre at Harefield Hospital. She then worked for some years within the cardiovascular medical devices industry before training as a podiatrist and qualifying in 2011 with a first class degree.
Since qualifying, Sarah has worked continually for the NHS as a podiatrist, working with patients with high risk foot problems and a range of medical conditions such as Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Working in the NHS has ensured that Sarah remains up to date and committed to providing high quality podiatry. Sarah has also specialised in nail surgery, providing assessments and minor surgery treatment within the NHS.
